is an ethical duty to ensure that the court knows about a case directly on
point from the controlling jurisdiction, even if the outcome of that case is
adverse to the client (Macfarlane, Dudovitz, Rowe, California Legal Research,
Second Edition, Carolina Academic Press, 2013, p. 52).
