The association Swissness Enforcement is a joint initiative of the private and public sector. The objective of this association is to effectively combat the misuse of Swiss indications of source abroad by establishing close coordination between the private and public sectors. The association intervenes where there are individual claims of misuse and both public and private interests are affected.

The "Swissness" legislation strengthens the "Swiss Made" designation and the Swiss cross. It provides clear rules for use of the Swiss indication of source when used for marketing purposes, which in turn contributes to preventing any wrongful use of the "Swiss Made" brand. This ensures the long-term value of the label.
